Nicholas Defries

Heavy Equipment Mechanic & Installer

Shakopee, MN

A Bit About Me + Career Objective

My name is Nick Defries, and I’m a hands-on mechanic from Prior Lake, Minnesota. I grew up around tools, equipment, and fabrication work, learning a lot from working alongside my dad, who has spent his entire life in this trade. I’m a practical, detail-oriented person who takes pride in clean, safe work and problem solving. I enjoy work that challenges me and teaches me something new every day. Also I am very comfortable with computers and technology, from reading schematics and manuals to using diagnostic tools, building systems, and troubleshooting electronics.

Outside the shop, I’m a family-oriented guy. I spend most of my free time with my family and enjoy working on cars, computers, Minnesota Wild games, Minnesota Twins, cooking and being outdoors with our dogs.

My goal is to continue developing my skills in hydraulic systems, electrical work, fabrication, and commercial truck equipment. I’m looking for a long-term career with opportunities to learn, grow, and take on advanced projects. I want to work in an environment where quality matters, training is encouraged, and every day brings something different.
